Amitabul in Chicago

This is a jewel of a restaurant. So much delicious and healthy food to choose from. I found this restaurant searching for vegan options when I landed at O'Hare one afternoon last year. Glad I came across it. Although I live in the western suburbs, I gladly make the 35 minute drive each way to pick up the great food during this lockdown. Favorites include: pizza, jade maki sushi, original veggie tofu patties, tibetan high noon, Dark Side of the Moon.

Unfortunately I came down with the flu along with gastroenteritis a week ago. I decided to try their flu soup with all the wonderful veggies! After a couple of days of having it for breakfast, lunch and dinner, I felt so much better eating so clean!! Great Food!!!

Adorable place. Friendly staff. And healthy options. Unfortunately, from the Yelp reviews I was hoping the food would taste ah-mazing. I've rarely been let down by yelp before...the food was good. But (and not to toot my own horn) I like my own Asian/Fusion cuisine better.🤷‍♀️ Flavor was ok but could have used some more diversity and spice, especially considering it's a blend of Korean and other Asian inspired dishes.

I have been coming to Amitabul for years. It’s my go-to vegan place. The restaurant is relaxed, lots of booths for privacy, walls filled with art, Buddha statues, and lovely relaxing music plays in the background. As for the menu, it’s hard to choose a dish because there are so many tasty choices but I am always content with whatever I consume. If you’re under the weather Dr. K’s Cure All Noodle Soup is spicy as heck but it seems to do the job every time. Ginger/citron is my all time favorite tea. Yummylicious. I highly recommend Amitabul and Chef Bill’s amazing Buddhist cuisine.

Delicious. I ordered miso soup, dark side of the Moon, and date tea. Loved everything. Everyone else at my table was also very happy with their choices.

Quaint Korean vegan location, atmosphere was a bit conservative/quiet but nice interior visuals. Food was tasty and guilt-free since they try not to cook with any oil or excessive salts.

I am a steak and potato guy all the way however this vegan restaurant is in my top 3 favorite restaurants of all time. Definitely the healthiest restaurant to eat at on the North West side You can taste the individual flavors in every dish! Even the icecream(non dairy of course) is fantastic!

I absolutely love this place. You can feel good vibes and energy. Food is delicious and taste like real taste of health and nature. Lot's of food is spicy, but you can ask mild. I love spicy so it's perfect to me. Service is really nice and they really care about you. 100%Recommend, if you like vegan food and good atmosphere place.

Everytime I order from here I can't decide what to order because all the food is exquisite and healthy. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxing and the service is second to none. Whether you dine in or order for take out you wont be disappointed.

Amazing vegan food! Been here quite a few times, I always have a hard time with the menu as I want to try everything. Food is fresh, delicious, wonderfully spiced and light on the stomach. I love that they are loaded with actual real vegetables and not mock meats and fillers. Wonderful ambience and friendly staff as well. Highly recommended!

Ordered the zesty tofu and it was phenomenal. The food was so delicious and my order was right on time. Looking forward to dining here again in the future.

As a meat lover I can tell definitely try their dumplings! Tasty and taste like meat! I also ordered pizza and not a big fan of their rice crust. Expected something more like regular crust but looked and tasted more like coocked pressed polenta

Has something for everyone !!! I got the healing energy bowl and was really good!! Also made me feel very calm after and relaxed! Definitely would want to go back. Gives you a good amount of food for the price!! The staff is very nice and greets you right away

Great Korean vegan food. We went there looking at the rating and the place does not disappoint. Nice saying from Buddha adorn the walls. Loved their energy tea, very different and have never tried before.

I am not vegan, however Amitable really brings out the vegan in me! I am impressed at the numberous dishes that are offered that contain no meats. I'm also amazed that many are cooked with little or no oil and that sodium levels are also kept to a minimum. Make no mistake: everything I've tried is so satisfying in flavor and health conscious. My favorites are "Dark Side of the Moon", "Energy Nut", and Korean pizza. I'm definitely, coming back for more! Special thanks to Brian and Chef Bill for the love!!

A wonderful place to visit. The menu is detailed enough to help with special dietary requirements. The food is very tasty and the atmosphere is calming. It is a treasure for vegans.

Quaint, serene, chill spot. Carefully selected traditionally soft meditative Asian music, weave together a nice pairing of ambience with delectable Vegan Healing Buddhist Spiritual dishes and good company. Food that cures your soul. Unique appetizers with bountiful sized entrees and soups. Abundance of fresh tasty vegetables, lots of steam-fried options, some with light or many, 95%, with no oil depending on the dish. From mild to Spicy, from curry to cure-all. Incredibly friendly owner with a kind spirit. Went out for a friend's birthday, easily accommodated 7 of us. We had a nice time and I will be back.

One of the best korean vegan restaurants i've ever been to! We ordered the cure all soup, steamed dumplings, and magu bean pancake and the red bean cake for dessert. They were all impressive. Especially the pancake, because i've had them in korea and they taste better and healthier than the one i had in korea! 10/10!

Relaxed atmosphere, great, truly healthy vegan food.

Amazing vegan restaurant that everyone must visit. Upon looking at the menu I was amazed to see that most items while vegan were made without oil. We ordered a noodle dish, curry dish, vegetable dumplings and the green heaven juice. While the order took while to come, it was nicely prepared and all dishes tested fresh. The service was amazing i must say. The restaurant was super busy when we arrived but we were served right away.

The restaurant is extraordinary and roomy, the menu was yummy and the prices were very economical. rapidly, effective service and very attentive waiters. I recommend this place.

One of the few vegan options that we saw with good ratings. Very good food. Be careful with the spiciness. Some of the best vegan food I've had. Fit for even non-vegans. The green smoothie was really good and fresh. They can modify the menu readily to your taste or dietary restrictions. Friendly staff. Really clean bathroom. The dwarf lemon tree isn't real.

I have been meaning to try Amitabul for some time now. Never had a chance. Finally I got to see for myself what so the fuss is about. First of all the owner is very friendly. Asked me my name and seemed genuinely happy to see me. The place inside is simple and relaxing. Food was very good. I had the yin and yang and veggie dumplings. One thing though. I had takeout and they gave me no utensils. But maybe they do that because they are environmentally conscious. Didn't bother me much. Quite expensive but quality is great. I do recommend trying them!

Quality food and a great environment, the owner is exceptionally personable talks to everyone but from the time you get in there tol the time you leave, you can tell he puts his heart and soul into the food

Consistent for last 7 years I'm visiting this place..... Love the food... Almost oil free... Please let me know if you find any other resto who use almost no oil for cooking.... Healthy to the core... Music is Zen and works well with the food.... One of my fav in the city of Chicago...
